President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. Extends Assistance to Families of Fallen Uniformed Personnel

DAVAO CITY – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. delivered housing units, job opportunities, educational scholarships, and financial aid to the families of uniformed personnel who lost their lives while on duty.

The President personally led the formal turnover of assistance to 300 recipients of the Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP) at the Dusit Thani Residence in Lanang. In his speech, Marcos underscored that the aid was rightfully entitled to the recipients.

Vice President and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr., and Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo were present during the event in support of the President. Meanwhile, Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao (OPAMINE) Leo Tereso Magno was also in attendance.

The event called “Pagpupugay sa mga Bayani ng Bansang Makabayan (PBBM) (Honoring the Heroes of the Nation’s Patriotism)” aimed to recognize the heroism and dedication of uniformed personnel who lost their lives or were injured while serving and protecting the country.

The DILG, as the lead implementer of the CSBP, assured the quick and efficient provision of aid to eligible individuals within the program.

Marcos expressed his gratitude to the families of the fallen personnel who gave their lives for the nation. The benefits provided included housing units worth P400,000 each, job opportunities, scholarships, and financial assistance.

The CSBP was established by the government to support the families of deceased personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police. Since its inception in 2016 under the Duterte administration, the program has allocated a total of P468.75 million for special financial assistance and P308.45 million for shelter support. The initiative is now being continued by the Marcos administration.

Marcos assured the public that the government will persistently work towards providing support to the police, military, and other sectors, enabling them to effectively fulfill their duties.
