Nadine Lustre chooses not to comment on deportation case involving Careless CEO Jeffrey Oh

Nadine Lustre, former artist under independent label Careless, opted to remain silent regarding the deportation case of CEO Jeffrey Oh. Lustre was asked for her reaction to Oh’s arrest and detention by the Bureau of Immigration during an interview at the FAMAS 2023 awards night. In a video uploaded on Monday, Aug. 14, Lustre said, “I think I’d rather not talk about that just because I’m not involved in it anymore, so I don’t want to comment on that anymore. But of course Jeff is… I’ve worked with him too. It’s very unfortunate that this is happening.”

Earlier this month, the Bureau of Immigration confirmed the detention of Oh following his arrest in Makati on July 28. He was allegedly engaged in “gainful employment” without the necessary documents to establish a business in the Philippines. Oh was released on bail on Aug. 4. As of now, Careless has not released a statement regarding Oh’s deportation case.

Oh is the business partner of Lustre’s former boyfriend, James Reid, and currently manages the career of Liza Soberano. Lustre confirmed her departure from Careless in a RX931 interview in December 2022, citing a misalignment in vision. She stated, “I kind of want to do my own thing. They’re doing their own thing. The things I want to do and the things they want to do are very different things already.”
