Filipino Drag Queen Makes it to Finals of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World”

In an exciting turn of events, Filipino drag queen Marina Summers has secured her spot in the finals of the second season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. the World.” Marina is now being viewed as a top contender for the coveted crown.

During the semifinal round, Marina narrowly escaped elimination when Australian drag queen Hannah Conda decided to eliminate American contestant Scarlet Envy instead.

Joining Marina in the finals are British drag queen Tia Kofi and France’s La Grande Dame, setting the stage for a fierce competition.

Marina, the sole Filipino contestant in this season’s cast, previously clinched the runner-up spot in the first season of “Drag Race Philippines,” where Precious Paula Nicole was crowned the winner.

Throughout her journey on the show, Marina has been proudly representing the Philippines, earning multiple accolades from maxi challenges and runways. Her memorable moments include channeling Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, embodying boxer Manny Pacquiao during the Snatch Game, showcasing her dancing skills, and receiving high praise from RuPaul himself, who stated that she was “born to do drag.”

On top of her impressive performances, Marina has been showcasing Filipino culture by wearing traditional Filipino outfits such as ternos and woven textiles on and off the stage. She has collaborated with designers to create stunning runway looks, including a volcano dress and lava gown designed by Job Dacon and Mak Tumang, a Bangus Terno by Axel Que, and a traditional Yakan wedding ceremony attire.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the finale to see if Marina will clinch the crown and make her mark on the international drag scene.
