Marcos implores Congress to enact legislation for job growth

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called on Congress to pass laws aimed at creating more jobs on Labor Day. One of the key measures he mentioned is the CREATE MORE Law, which proposes a 20 percent tax income rate for both local and foreign corporations operating in the Philippines.

In his Labor Day address at Malacañan Palace, Marcos emphasized the importance of legislative support to achieve the government’s agenda for job creation. He specifically cited the need for laws like the Enterprise-based education and training program Law, the Revised apprenticeship program Act, and the CREATE MORE law.

These proposed laws, according to Marcos, are crucial in maximizing opportunities for economic recovery and growth. By providing incentives for enterprises and supporting training programs, the government aims to boost job creation and foster a resilient economy.

The President’s call for legislative action comes as the country continues to grapple with the economic challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. It highlights the government’s commitment to creating an environment conducive to job creation and economic recovery.
