The Department of Public Works and Highways has completed the rehabilitation and upgrading of Cordon-Aurora Boundary Road, Isabela – Junction Dumabato section in Barangay Gamis, Saguday, Quirino, for a safer and more resilient road infrastructure.
DPWH Region 2 Director Reynaldo C. Alconcel reported to Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan and Undersecretary for Regional Operations Eugenio R. Pipo, Jr. that an amount of P 50-Million has been allotted to cover the reconstruction of 1.43-kilometer damaged road pavement as well as concreting of three-meter shoulder on both sides of the carriageway.
The improvement of the off-carriageway is now providing functional space and safer access for cyclists and pedestrians.
Also included in the scope of works is the construction of slope protection structures in the form of concrete retaining wall, while the existing line canal is also extended to hold more volumes of water.
The provision of thermoplastic road markings is also programmed to help travelers during night.
According to Director Alconcel, the rehabilitation of the Isabela Boundary – Junction Dumabato Road section of the Cordon-Aurora Boundary Road facilitates ease of travel and improve the movement of local goods and services in Quirino Province.
