Eastern Communications to Focus on Developing ICT Solutions in 2022
Eastern Communications, a telecommunications company in the Philippines, has announced its plans to prioritize the development of information and communication technology (ICT) solutions in the coming year. The company aims to expand and enhance its ICT portfolio, including the newly launched CIXA Cybersecurity suite and the DDoS Protection offering in collaboration with Nexusguard (NXG).
The CIXA platform is a cloud-based security system designed to help businesses mitigate data breaches, combat phishing activities, and block cyberattacks. Additionally, the collaboration with NXG aims to protect clients against Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks, ensuring uninterrupted access to online services and servers.
In a statement, Eastern Communications also highlighted its support for business operations and remote work through Google Workspace for Enterprise and Education as part of its Business Applications offerings. The company also expressed its goal to reinforce its data services by partnering with more data center platforms, including Digital Edge, HPE DC Solutions, and ePLDT.
This year marks Eastern Communications’ 145th anniversary as a leading connectivity and ICT solutions provider in the Philippines. The company has a longstanding history in the country and was the first telegraphic services company commissioned by the Spanish government. It also built the first data center in the country and was the first telecommunications company in the Philippines to receive the ISO 9001:2015 certification for its business operations.

Currently, Eastern Communications offers a wide range of ICT solutions to businesses, including network, security, cloud, and connectivity. The company has also partnered with the Globe Group and Infinivan Inc. on the joint Philippine Domestic Submarine Cable Network (PDSCN) infrastructure project.
