Television celebrity Tricia Anne Florendo, a cohost of the noontime show “It’s Showtime,” has filed a charge of attempted sexual assault against 25-year-old model Shervey Torno, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported on Friday.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Thursday evening at the lobby of an apartment block in Quezon City. Florendo stated that Torno followed her as she was heading to her apartment and later knocked on her door.
When Florento partially opened the door, the suspect asked for her Facebook page, but suddenly wrapped his arm around the victim’s waist and requested a kiss, as per the QCPD report.
Florendo, startled by the situation, pushed Torno away and sought help from the guard on duty at the lobby, who promptly apprehended the suspect.
Quezon City police chief Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan confirmed that Torno was taken to Kamuning Police Station 10 and will face charges for foiled sexual assault. He also reminded the public to report such incidents immediately.
