Office for Transportation Security (OTS) Administrator Undersecretary Ma.O Aplasca distributed high visibility safety vests to airport Security Screening Officers (SSO) to help prevent accidents while performing security screening operations at the airport on Monday, during the agency’s regular flag-raising ceremony.
A total of one hundred ninety-nine (199) pieces were initially distributed to OTS frontliners at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4.
According to Usec. Aplasca, this simple act of ensuring the safety of personnel uplifts their morale and therefore improves their productivity.
“Our frontliners need protection, too. Sana makatulong ito para safe kayo habang nagpe-perform ng kani-kaniyang tasks n’yo sa airport,” Usec. Aplasca said.
Similarly, Usec. Aplasca ensured that SSO’s works are recognized by giving Certificates of Commendation, especially those who have vigilantly performed their duties in preventing the entry of prohibited items at the airport. This award shall form part of their file and record with the OTS.
Officers from the OTS likewise received commendations during the ceremony.
