DPWH Enhances Pavia Diversion Road in Iloilo for a Smoother Commute

ILOILO CITY – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has embarked on a comprehensive road improvement initiative, aimed at ensuring more comfortable and efficient travel experiences along the Pavia Diversion Road in Iloilo.

Under the vigilant oversight of the DPWH Iloilo 4th District Engineering Office, this extensive project encompasses the resurfacing of a 984-lineal-meter stretch of Pavia Diversion Road, extending from Barangay Cabugao Sur to the town center.

The rejuvenated diversion road is now poised to offer a safer and quicker passage from Iloilo City to the Iloilo International Airport. This development is expected to bolster tourism in the region, attracting more visitors to explore the city and its myriad tourist attractions.

Sanny Boy O. Oropel, the Officer-in-Charge Director of DPWH Regional Office 6, emphasized the necessity and timeliness of this improvement project, given the substantial volume of vehicles traversing the Iloilo Diversion Road.

With a budget of P15.59 million, the asphalt overlay project includes the incorporation of reflectorized thermoplastic pavement markings and the installation of prominent warning signs, enhancing the road’s safety features.

This ambitious endeavor is a testament to the DPWH’s commitment to upgrading and maintaining the infrastructure vital for the seamless movement of people and goods in the region. The improved Pavia Diversion Road not only promises to make travel more convenient but also contributes to the overall development and growth of Iloilo and its neighboring areas.
