Miss Universe Sheynnis Palacios is set to visit the Philippines from May 1 to 6, as announced by the international pageant organization on social media. The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) described the Philippines as a land of breathtaking landscapes, rich culture, and friendly faces in their post.
Palacios, wearing an intricately embroidered gold “terno” gown with butterfly sleeves, is on an Asian tour that included stops in Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and China. However, her trips to Indonesia and Malaysia were canceled.
MUO owner Anne Jakrajutatip hinted at the visit on social media, teasing the Philippines and India as the next tour destinations. Olivia Quido-Co, MUO Vice President for Global Partnerships, revealed that Palacios is scheduled to have a motorcade in the Philippines but no other activities have been announced.
Palacios will be the third reigning Miss Universe titleholder to visit the Philippines in three years, following India’s Harnaaz Sandhu in 2022 and R’Bonney Gabriel in 2023. The upcoming Miss Universe Philippines pageant will take place on May 22 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, with Gabriel hosting the show.
