Director believes Kiko Estrada is destined to become an action star

Actor Kiko Estrada lands his first lead action role in the TV5 remake of the classic film “Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa.” The director of the series, Albert Langitan, had always seen Estrada as destined for action stardom.

Langitan shared how he had a conversation with Estrada 10 years ago, telling him that he should pursue action roles. Now, seeing him as the lead star of “Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa,” Langitan believes it was destiny.

Estrada, on the other hand, attributed the project to manifestation, stating that he had been praying for a good action-packed project and it eventually came to fruition.

In preparation for his role, Estrada studied martial arts like muay thai and grappling, performing many stunts himself. Despite facing challenges like rolling his ankle and hyperextending his elbow during action sequences, he remained dedicated to delivering a quality show.

The show, co-produced by TV5, Studio Viva, and Sari Sari, also stars Sid Lucero, Joko Diaz, Mark Anthony Fernandez, and Sarah Lahbati. Estrada expressed gratitude for being chosen for the lead role and emphasized the importance of the project in his life at this moment.

Reflecting on his character Norman dela Cruz, Estrada shared that he had to find similarities between himself and the character to portray him authentically. He expressed admiration for Norman’s resilience and determination in the face of adversity.

Despite feeling the pressure of leading the show, Estrada remains focused and determined, seeking guidance from his producers, directors, and castmates. With the support of his family and a positive mindset, he is determined to deliver a memorable performance in “Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa.”
