British Chamber advocates for enhanced partnership and streamlining of business operations



The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) is aiming to strengthen the trade relationship between the UK and the Philippines, highlighting the importance of promoting ease of doing business to boost investor confidence in the country.

In a recent joint interview with British Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils and BCCP Executive Director/Trustee Chris Nelson, discussions centered around bilateral partnerships in defense, science & technology, climate & environment, maritime security, and trade & investment. Beaufils emphasized the need for more channels to encourage cooperation between the two countries.

Nelson pointed out the significance of partnerships with local and foreign businesses, as well as other foreign chambers in the country. The British Chamber has also launched a monthly initiative called ‘Trade & Connect,’ which aims to provide investors with key information and insights from relevant government agencies and businesses in various sectors to promote ease of doing business in the Philippines.

The British Chamber reiterated the importance of passing key legislation, including the Anti-Agricultural Economic Sabotage Act and the Cybersecurity Act, to promote the agricultural sector, address issues of inflation, and enhance cybersecurity infrastructure to boost investor trust and confidence in the Philippines.
