Bossing dominate Fuel Masters to close out PBA Philippine Cup campaign

In a thrilling match, the Blackwater Bossing concluded their PBA Philippine Cup campaign by dominating the Phoenix Fuel Masters with a final score of 102-83 at the Ynares Arena in Pasig City on Saturday.

Jaydee Tungcab shone brightly with a career-best performance, contributing 19 points, five rebounds, four assists, and two steals in just 21 minutes coming off the bench for Blackwater. Meanwhile, Troy Rosario added 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the victorious Bossing.

Entering the fourth quarter four points behind at 65-69, Blackwater unleashed a 12-0 run led by Rey Suerte, Tungcab, and Rosario, grabbing a commanding 77-69 lead. Although Simon Camacho managed to score for the Phoenix Fuel Masters, they struggled to close the gap.

Despite efforts to stay within striking distance and trailing by only eight at 79-87 with less than five minutes remaining, JJay Alejandro’s jumper was not enough to rally the Phoenix team. Blackwater regained control of the game and went on a 15-4 run to secure the victory.

Apart from Tungcab and Rosario, Nambatac contributed 16 points, while Guinto and Ilagan each added 11 points for the Bossing. On the opposing side, Jason Perkins led the scoring for the Fuel Masters with 22 points and eight rebounds, with Alejandro contributing 14 points and five assists in his 26 minutes on the court.

With this win, Blackwater concludes the All-Filipino conference with a 4-7 win-loss record, while Phoenix wraps up their campaign with a 3-8 slate.
