Basketball teams from Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Mongolia to compete in NYBL tournament.

Three foreign teams are set to compete in the National Youth Basketball League (NYBL) Philippines Invitational Youth Championships, according to league president Fernando Arimado.

Arimado announced on Thursday that teams from Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and Mongolia will be joining local squads in the pocket tournament, which is scheduled to start on July 10. The tournament will serve as a precursor to next month’s main championship.

“We are excited to have these international teams join us for the NYBL. This tournament is a great opportunity for our players to prepare for the upcoming big event,” Arimado said in Filipino.

The NYBL will feature four age brackets – 17 under, 15 under, 13 under, and 11 under. In addition to local teams like the Pasig Mighty Juggernauts and the Antipolo Skip Basketball, squads from Montalban, Bataan, Extreme Defense, Siklab Bataan, RPBC, Tipas, and Locked-In will also be competing.

The tournament is set to run from July 10-14 at the Lourdes School Mandaluyong Gymnasium. The NYBL aims to provide opportunities for youth players in the Philippines to showcase their skills and compete at a high level.
