Farm-to-market Road Project Benefits Farmers in Liloan, Cebu

Through the convergence program of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Agriculture (DA) has benefitted farmers and locals of Barangay Tabla, Liloan, Cebu.

According to Regional Office 7 Director Ernesto S. Gregorio Jr., citing a report from DPWH District Engineer Florida P. Nuñez, the completed farm-to-market road (FMR) project now facilitates ease of transport of agricultural products to the market center, resulting to the increased income of farmers.

The 562-meter new concrete road also ensures a safe and efficient journey for locals and travelers alike who are en route to the Barangays of Tabla, Mulao, San Roque and other mountain barangays in Liloan.

“The FMR project has brought about an increase in mobility in transporting the basic needs of the municipality and a boost to the economic growth of farmers as they now traverse safely through paved roads,” said Regional Director Gregorio.

The project amounting ₱10 million pesos was implemented by the DPWH Cebu 5th District Engineering Office.
