Alfred Vargas Opens Up About Embodying Characters Both On and Off Screen



A well-known personality in Philippine showbiz and politics, Alfred Vargas, recently won the FAMAS awards for Best Actor. He was recognized for his role in the movie “Pieta,” where he portrayed the character of Isaac, an ex-convict on a journey to reunite with his mother, played by Nora Aunor.

Aside from his successful acting career, Alfred is also a devoted family man. He and his wife, Yasmine, welcomed their fourth child six months ago. The pregnancy was challenging for Yasmine, as she suffered from hyperemesis and various infections. Despite the difficulties, both mother and baby are now healthy and doing well.

In a recent interview, Alfred shared insights into his life as a father, emphasizing the importance of spending quality time with each of his children. He also revealed his dedication to health and fitness, highlighting his regimen of intermittent fasting and exercise.

When asked about balancing his roles as an actor and politician, Alfred expressed a clear preference for public service. He cited his involvement in introducing the National Integrated Cancer Control Act as a significant accomplishment. Additionally, he mentioned veteran actors Eddie Garcia, Christopher de Leon, and Albert Martinez as his idols and expressed his desire to continue his acting career for years to come.
