2023 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos recipients praised by House

The House of Representatives has recently adopted a measure to congratulate and commend the recipients of the 2023 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipino awards. This prestigious career-service award is given to outstanding individuals in the academe, military, and police sectors.

During the plenary session held on September 20, the House Resolution (HR) No.1312 was adopted, with House Speaker Martin Romualdez as its principal author. The Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos program aims to highlight the achievements of 10 exceptional Filipinos, including four educators, three military personnel, and three police officers.

The award recognizes an individual’s entire career, acknowledging all accomplishments and contributions, regardless of size, both within and beyond their official duties. It takes into account their dedication, selflessness, and commitment in the pursuit of public service.

In HR No.1312, it states, “For exemplifying commitment, selflessness, and dedication in the pursuit of public service, the House of Representatives proudly joins the Metrobank Foundation Inc. in honoring and commending these 10 exceptional individuals who exemplify public service as a worthy endeavor.”

The resolution further resolves that the House of Representatives congratulates and commends the 2023 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipino Awardees for their dedication and steadfast commitment in providing exceptional public service.

The recipients of the 2023 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipino Award for teachers are Rex Sario, June Elias Patalinghug, Edgar Durana, and Jovelyn Delosa. Soldiers recognized with the prestigious award are Staff Sergeant Danilo Banquiao, Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Bitancur, and Colonel Joseph Jeremias Cirilo Dator. Police officers Chief Master Sergeant Dennis Bendo, Major Mae Ann Cunanan, and Colonel Renell Sabaldica were also honored.

The resolution was co-authored by Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr., Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe, Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan, Senior Deputy Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, Committee on Accounts Chairperson Yedda Marie Romualdez, and Deputy Majority Leader Jude Acidre.

The House of Representatives’ adoption of this measure underscores its recognition of the outstanding contributions and achievements of these 10 exceptional individuals who have exemplified public service. The Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipino awards continue to inspire and honor those who have dedicated their lives to serving their communities and the nation.
