Yexel Sebastian, popular vlogger, embroiled in P50 billion Syndicated Estafa complaint

Manila – Content creator and entrepreneur Yexel Sebastian is currently facing multiple complaints, including one for syndicated estafa, in a scam that involves an estimated amount of P50 billion.

Approximately 30 individuals, along with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), have filed Syndicated Estafa charges against Sebastian. He is also facing another complaint for violating the securities and regulation code, related to an alleged junket investment scam.

According to computations presented by NBI’s Fraud and Financial Crimes Division Chief Atty. Palmer Mallari, the total amount implicated in all the complaints could reach up to P50 billion.

One of the victims claimed to have lost P700,000 in the scandal. The victims comprise politicians, celebrities, businessmen, and overseas Filipino workers.

Mallari stated, “We are being sustained by the revised securities and regulation code [that] any evidence of indebtedness is also a form of security. We will be utilizing that process of the law… We will also be filing a potential case of violation of the anti-money laundering case.”

Sebastian, who departed the country last year with his partner, has refuted the allegations and insisted that he too is a victim of the incident. He stated, “Uulitin ko po, wala kami niloko kahit isang tao, kami po ay nalagay lang sa alanganin, hindi po namin kagustuhan ang nangyari sa amin lahat.”
