Xi is open to collaborating with the US to build a stable relationship

China’s President Xi Jinping expressed his willingness to collaborate with the United States in order to foster stable bilateral ties, according to state media. The announcement came as both leaders exchanged congratulations on the anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Xi and US President Joe Biden previously met in San Francisco in November, where they pledged to enhance communication in an effort to prevent competition from escalating into conflict.

In commemoration of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the US, Xi emphasized the importance of both sides taking practical actions to promote the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of their relationship. State broadcaster CCTV reported that Xi stated, “I am willing to work with President Biden to continue to navigate China-US relations, benefit both China and the United States and their people, and promote world peace and development.”

Additionally, Xi highlighted the importance of adhering to mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation as the correct way for China and the United States to interact.

The exchange of messages and the expressed willingness for collaboration between the two leaders signal a potential pathway towards improved relations between China and the United States.
