Women to receive free MRT rides during all-female House session



In celebration of International Women’s Day, women and girls can enjoy free rides today at the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) and the Light Rail Transit Line 2. This initiative is a gesture of gratitude from the MRT-3 and a way to honor women’s talents and contributions in society.

In line with the celebration, the House of Representatives held an All-Women Session presided over by Bulacan 4th District Rep. Linabelle Ruth Villarica. Various women lawmakers delivered speeches highlighting ongoing women’s issues and advocating for gender equality.

Additionally, AirAsia Philippines organized an All Women Crew flight and dedicated an All Women Lane to commemorate the resilience and hard work of women. The city government of Pasay also planned a job fair to provide employment opportunities for female jobseekers.

The Department of Foreign Affairs Consular Offices will open its Courtesy Lane exclusively to women on March 16, Saturday, to provide passport services. Specifically, the DFA Consular Office in Cebu will offer 500 Passport Courtesy Lane slots for women throughout the month of March.

A forum organized by Gabriela Women’s Party on March 13 will address gender violence issues, and the city government of Pasay will offer free enrollment in vocational courses through TESDA. Overall, these initiatives aim to celebrate women’s achievements and advocate for gender equality.
