Leading the ceremony, Chief of the Philippine National Police (CPNP), PGen Benjamin C Acorda Jr, expressed deep gratitude to PMGen Okubo for his unwavering commitment, dedication, and exceptional leadership during his tenure as the NCRPO Regional Director. Under his guidance, the NCRPO made remarkable strides in maintaining peace and order, ensuring community safety, and combating crime in the bustling metropolis.

PMGen Okubo’s tenure was defined by his tireless pursuit of justice, unwavering loyalty to the organization, and dedication to serving the country and its people. His strong sense of duty and passion for upholding the law served as the driving force behind the NCRPO’s numerous accomplishments.

During his address, CPNP highlighted PMGen Okubo’s focus on organizational goals rather than personal ambition. He reminded everyone that as law enforcement officers, their duty was not to protect and serve themselves, but to serve and protect their fellow citizens.

“As we bid farewell to PMGen Okubo, let us not forget the valuable lessons he taught us. His legacy reminds us that loyalty to the organization and its principles should always come before personal ambition. It is this loyalty that unites us, motivates us, and keeps us focused on the greater good,” said PNP Chief Acorda.

The CPNP then warmly welcomed the incoming NCRPO Regional Director, PBGen Police Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., congratulating him on his appointment and assuring him of full support. He expressed confidence in Director Nartatez’s ability to lead the NCRPO with distinction, urging him to continue fostering a culture of loyalty, unity, and selflessness within the organization.

Emphasizing the importance of their commitment to serving the country and its people, CPNP reminded Director Nartatez that as law enforcement officers, they were entrusted with the noble task of safeguarding communities and upholding the principles of justice and equality.

PBGen Acorda also urged Director Nartatez to prioritize organizational goals over personal interests. He stated, “Let us remember that our purpose is not merely to advance our own careers but to work together for the betterment of society. By placing the interests of our country and its people at the forefront of your leadership, you will inspire others to do the same.”

The NCRPO Turnover of Command Ceremony symbolizes a seamless transition of leadership and signifies an ongoing commitment to maintaining peace and order in the National Capital Region.
