Quiboloy imposes terms for surrender

Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy is demanding “written guarantees” from authorities as he sets conditions for his surrender amidst warrants of arrest issued against him and five followers for violating Republic Act 7610.

In a voice message released through the DZAR 1026 YouTube channel, Quiboloy insisted on written assurances that the Americans, including the FBI, CIA, and the US embassy, will not interfere in his case in the Philippines. He also requested guarantees from President Marcos, Secretary of Justice Jesus Crispin Remulla, PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, and NBI Director Medardo de Lemos that the US government will not interfere.

Quiboloy emphasized that he will not show his face unless these conditions are met, citing concerns about being subjected to extraordinary rendition by American authorities. He claimed that surrendering could lead to his capture and potential harm at the hands of Americans.

The religious leader maintained that the accusations against him are fabricated and expressed his desire for Sen. Risa Hontiveros to cease what he deemed as sham Senate hearings and pursue legal action in court.

Colonel Jean Fajardo of the PNP urged Quiboloy’s followers to persuade him to surrender, cautioning that as a fugitive, he can be arrested by civilians.

Senator Ronald Dela Rosa advised Quiboloy to face the charges and respect the court proceedings following the arrest warrant issued against him. Dela Rosa dispelled rumors of former President Rodrigo Duterte aiding Quiboloy in evading authorities, emphasizing that everyone must abide by the law.

Quiboloy remains in hiding, with both the court and the Senate calling for his arrest, setting the stage for a legal battle to unfold.
