Parañaque makes it into the Top 7 finalists for the Most Business-Friendly LGU Award

Parañaque City government is one step closer to winning the prestigious 2023 Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit Award by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The city advanced to the final judging stage, which took place on Friday, Sept. 29.

Mayor Eric Olivarez led the presentation, highlighting the significant initiatives undertaken by the city government in four main areas: fast-tracking sustainable local economic development, ease of doing business, investment promotion, and enhancing sectoral competitiveness.

Supported by Business Permit and Licensing chief Atty. Melanie-Malaya, City Administrator Atty. Voltaire dela Cruz, and other department heads of the city government, Olivarez showcased the city’s efforts to streamline and simplify the business permit and licensing procedures. One of the notable initiatives was the establishment of the Electronic Business One Stop Shop (eBOSS).

In addition, Malaya introduced online services for the renewal of business permits and licenses, making the process more efficient and convenient for clients.

The meeting also presented the city government’s efforts to promote tourism and showcase the rich culture of Parañaque. Furthermore, discussions were held regarding the initiatives of the local police in maintaining peace and order in the city.

The final judging for the Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit Award is a significant recognition of Parañaque City’s commitment to fostering a favorable business environment. If successful, the city will join the ranks of the most business-friendly local government units in the country.
