Janno Gibbs Demands Apology from PNP for Mishandling Investigation of Father’s Death

Janno Gibbs Calls for Public Apology from PNP for Leaking Sensitive Images of Father

Actor-director Janno Gibbs has called on the Philippine National Police (PNP) to issue a public apology for leaking sensitive images of his father, Ronaldo Valdez, to social media. The leaked images, according to Gibbs, caused “immense emotional distress” to his family and resulted in media attacks against them.

In a statement read by his lawyer, Atty. Lorna Kapunan, Gibbs expressed his dismay over the handling of the investigation into his father’s death, which led to the unauthorized release of sensitive video footage and the circulation of fake news and private information on social media.

Gibbs emphasized that they are not pursuing legal action against those responsible, but they are demanding a public apology from the PNP for the breach of trust and the trauma caused to his family.

The actor-director also urged the public to be vigilant when sharing videos and posts online, especially when they involve individuals who are grieving.

“We fervently wish that our appeal to the PNP will not fall on deaf ears, allowing us to swiftly bring an end to this regretful chapter of our lives,” Gibbs said.

He also expressed gratitude to those who sympathized with his family for the loss of his father amidst the controversy.
