Indian Companies to Present Solutions for Finance, Agriculture, and Health at Technology Summit

The Embassy of India in Manila is set to host a technology summit in March to enhance collaboration between India and the Philippines in the digital sphere. With over 57 Indian tech companies showcasing their digital products and solutions in areas such as fintech, agritech, and healthtech, the first-ever India-Philippines Tech Summit will take place on March 5 in Taguig City.

Indian Ambassador to Manila Shambhu Kumaran expressed that the event marks the commencement of a structured dialogue between the two countries regarding digital technology. Highlighting the bright economic prospects of the Philippines, Kumaran stated that Indian companies are eager to explore opportunities in the country.

Currently, more than 30 Indian tech firms have invested in the Philippines, providing employment to around 150,000 to 200,000 Filipinos. Despite an existing engagement in the information technology sector, Kumaran emphasized the need for a broader understanding of the transformative changes occurring in the Indian digital economy.

Moreover, the summit will place a significant emphasis on innovations in agriculture and healthcare, aligning with the priorities of the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Indian companies will present solutions for enhancing agricultural productivity through the utilization of satellite data and biotechnology. Additionally, India’s expertise in low-cost medicines and diagnostic technologies can support universal healthcare initiatives in the Philippines, Kumaran pointed out.
