House of Representatives Approves Establishment of National Aviation Academy of the Philippines

MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives panel has approved a bill that will establish the National Aviation Academy of the Philippines (NAAP). The bill, known as House Bill No. 7323, was approved by the House Committee on Ways and Means and will convert the existing Philippine State College of Aeronautics into the NAAP through its charter.

Kabayan party-list Rep. Ron Salo, the primary author of the bill, said that this is a crucial step in advancing aviation education in the country. With the new charter, the NAAP aims to become the premier government institution for aeronautics and aviation-related education, developing professionals in the Philippine aviation industry, including both the private and government sectors and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

One of the key features of the bill is the establishment of a campus exclusively for the cadets of the Philippine Air Force. Salo emphasized the importance of including the Air Force cadets in this development to ensure that they are not left behind.

He added that the new charter will enable the institution to adapt, flourish, and become a key player in the global arena by focusing on excellence and innovation in aviation education.

The approval of the bill marks an important milestone in the development of aviation education in the Philippines, as it seeks to provide enhanced training and opportunities for aspiring aviation professionals.
