Gretchen Ho launches new production company, featuring Margielyn Didal documentary as debut project



Former star athlete Gretchen Ho has fulfilled her dream of sports hosting, now having her own production company, Woman In Action (WIA) Studios. Their first documentary focuses on the recovery journey of Margielyn Didal, the first Filipino Olympian skateboarder, after sustaining an injury during a 2021 competition in Brazil. The documentary, titled “Woman In Action: Beyond the Board,” follows Margielyn’s path from Dubai to Baler and Cebu as she navigates the challenges of being a world-class athlete.

Gretchen explained that the documentary aims to shed light on Margielyn’s inspirational story, highlighting her journey from adversity to success. The film also explores Margielyn’s transition from artistic skateboarding to competitive sports, especially with the sport’s inclusion in the Olympics.

Gretchen shared her admiration for Margielyn’s resilience and fighting spirit, emphasizing the athlete’s dedication to supporting the skateboarding community. She hopes that the documentary will inspire others and showcase the challenges and triumphs of athletes like Margielyn.

Having established her own production company, Gretchen expressed her passion for sports storytelling and her desire to continue highlighting the journeys of Filipino athletes. She credits her team and partners for their support in bringing these stories to life and looks forward to producing more inspiring documentaries in the future.
