Medical Mission Held for Senior Citizens in Lucena City

LUCENA CITY, Quezon – In observance of National Elderly Week, the National Commission on Senior Citizens (NCSC) partnered with SM City-Lucena to organize a medical mission for senior citizens. The event took place on Thursday, October 5, at the SM City-Lucena Event Center.

The medical mission aimed to provide essential healthcare services to senior citizens within the community. It offered medical, dental, and eye checkups, as well as referral letters for hospitalization. The event specifically catered to senior citizens from Barangays 2 and 3 in Lucena City.

Commissioner Ricardo Rainier Cruz expressed the NCSC’s commitment to conducting more medical missions in various locations to reach out to senior citizens in need. This initiative serves as an opportunity to address the healthcare needs of the elderly and prioritize their overall well-being.

The medical mission, themed “Balik Kalinga kay Lolo at Lola,” received immense support from different organizations such as the Office of Senior Citizen Affairs, City Health Office, and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).

The collaboration between the NCSC and SM City-Lucena exemplifies a proactive approach towards providing comprehensive healthcare services for senior citizens. Through the medical mission, they were able to effectively address the medical needs of the elderly population in Lucena City and promote their overall health and well-being.
