DPWH Upgrades Road Maintenance Equipment

In a bid to boost performance and efficiency of roadside workers, the Department of Public Works and Highways acquired ₱32 million worth of new maintenance equipment to be utilized in Metro Manila roads.

During the turn over ceremony, DPWH National Capital Regional Director Nomer Abel P. Canlas led the distribution of the newly procured equipment to the nine (9) district engineering offices in Metro Manila.

The procurement includes 10 units each of air compressor with jackhammer, paint spray gun with air compressor, and heavy-duty steel cart for storage.

Apart from modernization efforts, Director Canlas said that new tools and machineries will greatly improve the capacity of maintenance crew in performing routine road maintenance activities, replacing outdated and manual equipment. It will complete tasks over a shorter period of time.

“Power sweepers have also arrived and will be distributed to DPWH implementing offices. I assure everyone that this is only the start of our initiative of upgrading and modernizing the facilities and resources in the region to deliver more efficient, quality service to the public,” Director Canlas added.
