Black Rider: Ruru Madrid Makes a Primetime Comeback on November 6th

Ruru Madrid Returns as Primetime Action Hero in GMA Network’s “Black Rider”

Prepare to be blown away as actor Ruru Madrid makes his highly-anticipated comeback in the action-packed Filipino drama series “Black Rider.” The show, produced by GMA Public Affairs, promises to be a thrilling combination of heroism, revenge, justice, and family drama on a cinematic scale.

Joining Madrid in “Black Rider” are Matteo Guidicelli, Yassi Pressman, and Katrina Halili, with a special appearance by Kylie Padilla. The ensemble cast brings together a mix of talented actors from different generations, making this project an exciting collaboration.

In “Black Rider,” Madrid portrays Elias Guerrero, a motorcycle driver for the delivery app Biyahero. Soon, he takes on the identity of “Black Rider,” a vigilante determined to fight against the notorious syndicate known as the Golden Scorpion. Madrid, known for his passion for doing his own stunts, underwent intensive training in hand combat, motocross, and martial arts to deliver impressive fight choreography in the series.

Expressing his excitement for the project, Madrid said, “I’m thrilled to share ‘Black Rider’ with all of you – the latest primetime offering from GMA Public Affairs that brings together artists from different generations. It is an honor for me to work with the actors I admire in this huge project. Thank you very much, GMA Network, GMA Public Affairs, and Sparkle GMA Artist Center, for fulfilling my dream of doing a full-action series. I promise to give my all to this program.”

For Matteo Guidicelli, “Black Rider” marks his biggest project since his return to the Kapuso Network. He plays Paeng Policarpio, a brave police officer who shares a deep bond with Elias. Guidicelli expressed his joy in returning to work, stating, “It’s a very nice feeling to get back, working on the craft again.”

Yassi Pressman, who portrays Vanessa “Bane” Bartolome, is grateful for the opportunity to work with the Kapuso Network once again. She shared, “It’s nice that everybody is kind, everybody is still warm. When we’re on set, the people are also warm.” Pressman is excited to showcase the “badass” side of her character, who has a dark past with the Golden Scorpion.

Katrina Halili, another homegrown GMA actress, takes on the role of Rona Marie Ana ‘Romana’ Tolentino, a vigilante fighting alongside Elias against the Golden Scorpion. Halili expressed her happiness and excitement for this full-action drama series, saying, “We trained for our characters in this series, so I hope you support ‘Black Rider’.”

“Black Rider” also features a stellar cast, including Zoren Legaspi, Raymart Santiago, Gary Estrada, Raymond Bagatsing, Isko Moreno, Monsour del Rosario, Roi Vinzon, Rio Locsin, Gladys Reyes, Maureen Larrazabal, and Almira Muhlach. Jon Lucas portrays Calvin Magallanes, who shares Elias’s motorcycle skills but is driven by ambition within the Golden Scorpion.

The series also brings in popular comedians Empoy Marquez and Jayson Gainza, rapper Shanti Dope, social media stars Pipay and Ashley Rivera, drag queen Turing, Sparkle artists Prince Clemente and Mariel Pamintuan, and young love team Ashley Sarmiento and Marco Masa, adding color to the story.

“Black Rider” promises breathtaking action sequences that elevate Pinoy action while emphasizing family love and heroism in the face of adversity. Elias’s transformation from a regular motorcycle driver to a symbol of justice and hope for the people of Manila resonates with Filipinos. The series also highlights the enduring appeal of motorcycles in the Philippines, a country with approximately 30 million motorcycle riders out of a population of 100 million.

The show is produced by Senior Program Manager John Mychal Feraren, Program Manager Gemma Gonzaga, and Executive Producers Lea Reyes, Jojo Aleta, and Tanna delos Santos. The creative team includes Erwin Caezar Verdillo Bravo, John Bedia, Aeious Asin, and Dickson Comia as the writers, and action director Erwin Tagle, master directors Rommel Penesa, and Richard Arellano.

Don’t miss the world premiere of “Black Rider” on November 6 at 8 PM on GMA Telebabad, with simulcast airing on Pinoy Hits and live streaming via Kapuso Stream. The show will also have a delayed telecast on GTV at 9:40 PM and can be watched by global viewers on GMA Pinoy TV.
