ATEEZ’s Jongho to have surgery following NCT’s Taeil and Seventeen’s S.Coups

K-pop Star Jongho from ATEEZ to Undergo Knee Surgery

Jongho, a member of the popular K-pop boy band ATEEZ, is set to undergo surgery for a meniscus rupture in his knee. This news comes after the idol experienced extreme pain during a recent event.

According to the Med-el website, a meniscus rupture is an injury to the cartilage discs in the knee joint. These discs can tear or degenerate due to external force, age, or predisposition. Jongho had been undergoing conservative treatment and recovery for the injury but additional measures were deemed necessary after a detailed examination. As a result, he immediately halted his overseas schedules and returned to Korea for treatment at a specialized medical institution.

KQ Entertainment, ATEEZ’s agency, released a statement on August 26th, stating that after a thorough examination, Jongho was recommended to undergo surgery and receive intensive management for the injured area. While Jongho focuses on his recovery, ATEEZ will continue to perform with the remaining seven members.

“As a result, ATEEZ will continue with seven members for upcoming schedules while Jongho undergoes rehabilitation after the surgery. We ask for your understanding regarding the decision to prioritize Jongho’s prompt recovery, and we will update you once he is ready to return to the group’s schedule,” the agency stated.

Jongho is the third K-pop idol to require surgery recently, following NCT’s Taeil and Seventeen’s S.Coups. Taeil suffered a thigh fracture after an accident while riding his motorcycle home from work, and medical staff advised him to undergo surgery. S.Coups, on the other hand, tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee during a filming session. He successfully underwent surgery to restore his ACL and has since been released from the hospital.

The news of Jongho’s upcoming surgery has led fans to express their concern and well wishes for his recovery. The agency has asked for understanding and promised to provide updates on Jongho’s condition and return to ATEEZ’s activities.
