Arrest Made in Pasay after Man Found Carrying a Gun



35-Year-Old Man Arrested for Carrying Gun in Pasay City

Pasay City, Philippines – In an operation conducted by members of Pasay City- Police Substation- 9, a 35-year-old man was arrested for carrying a gun in Pasay City on Saturday, Oct. 14.

The suspect, who goes by the alias Nognog, was apprehended at approximately 5:30 p.m. along Piccio Garden Road, Barangay 183, Pasay City, according to Col. Froilan Uy, the city police chief.

The arrest came after a concerned citizen reported a man wielding a firearm. In response, a team from the police substation, led by Staff Sgt. Jonnel Ortega, Cpl. Jeradl Dahilig, and Pat. Julius Sarangay, was dispatched to confirm the information provided.

Upon verification, the suspect, Nognog, was apprehended. Authorities seized a .38 caliber revolver with four live ammunition from him.

Subsequently, Nognog was immediately detained at the police custodial facility. Charges were filed against him for violation of Republic Act 10591, also known as the comprehensive law on firearms and ammunition, in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.

Col. Uy emphasized that the Pasay police force is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the public, particularly in light of the upcoming elections.
