PBA and TV5 Announce Exciting Partnership with A2Z for 48th Season

After the recent triumphs of Gilas Pilipinas in international basketball competitions, Filipino sports fans are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming local events. One of the most highly-anticipated sporting events is the resumption of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) games.

In a significant move, the PBA, in collaboration with TV5, has unveiled a new chapter for its 48th season by announcing its new free-to-air home on A2Z. This transition represents a major milestone for the PBA and TV5 as they strive to bring PBA games to as many households as possible.

TV5 President and CEO Guido Zaballero expressed his full support for the PBA and Philippine basketball as a whole, stating, “TV5 continues to be a strong supporter of the PBA and Philippine Basketball as a whole. The partnership with A2Z ensures that Filipinos nationwide have widespread access to LIVE PBA Games on free-to-air and opens up new audiences to experience the country’s top basketball league.”

Zoe Broadcasting Vice President and General Manager Rene Gonzalez also shared his enthusiasm, saying, “A2Z is proud to be the new home of the PBA. We’re delighted to partner with TV5 in this exciting venture so that we may provide our audiences with more programming options. Welcoming the PBA, an established sports institution, adds a new dimension to our current offerings.”

Starting November 5, fans can catch the PBA action live on A2Z every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Weekday games will be aired at 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM, while weekend games will tip off at 3:00 PM and 6:15 PM, respectively. Discussions are also underway for the inclusion of other PBA properties on A2Z, such as the PBA D-League and PBA 3×3.

Zaballero emphasized the benefits of the partnership with A2Z, stating, “Our partnership with A2Z allows the PBA a fixed primetime slot across all gamedays, for both games. The PBA is A2Z’s key primetime offering, but the intent is to build strong lead-in programming and further grow the league’s viewership on free-to-air.”

In addition to A2Z, PBA games can be accessed through various platforms such as Cignal TV, the official Pay TV Broadcast Partner of the league. Pilipinas Live, Cignal TV’s newest streaming platform, offers all PBA games live and on-demand, with exclusive viewing options for app users. It also streams PBA 3×3, PBA D-League, and PBA Esports events, along with exclusive original programs for PBA fans locally and internationally.

For over 4 million subscribers, PBA Rush on Cignal TV continues to provide live coverage of all PBA events in high-definition. A2Z is also available for streaming on the Cignal Play app.

With this exciting partnership between PBA, TV5, and A2Z, Filipino basketball enthusiasts can expect more extensive coverage of their favorite league, ensuring that the PBA remains accessible to a wide audience across the country.
