Tropang Giga rally from 23 points down to defeat Fuel Masters

In a thrilling match on Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila, the TNT Tropang Giga staged an impressive comeback to defeat the Phoenix Fuel Masters in the PBA Philippine Cup. Despite trailing by 23 points in the first half, TNT rallied behind strong performances from RR Pogoy, Calvin Oftana, and Kelly Williams to secure a 108-101 victory.

Pogoy led the charge for TNT with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Oftana contributed 19 points and nine boards. Williams, who scored a conference-high 17 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, played a key role in the team’s turnaround.

After a dominant first half by Phoenix, TNT stepped up their offense and defense in the second half, outscoring their opponents 42-19 in the third quarter. This surge gave them an 84-81 lead heading into the final period, ultimately sealing the win.

Despite Jason Perkins’ impressive 26-point, 10-rebound performance for the Fuel Masters, they were unable to hold off TNT’s comeback. With this victory, the Tropang Giga improved their record to 5-4, strengthening their bid for a spot in the quarterfinals. On the other hand, Phoenix’s playoff chances took a hit as they fell to a 3-6 record.
