Lin expresses awe at the dedicated Filipino fanbase



Jeremy Lin, former NBA star, was impressed by the enthusiasm of Filipino basketball fans during a recent East Asia Super League match. Lin, who first visited Manila during an NBA pre-season game a decade ago, was amazed by the warm welcome he received when his team, the New Taipei Kings, played and defeated the Meralco Bolts at the PhilSports Arena.

Fans, eager to meet the basketball star, flocked to the venue hoping to get their Jeremy Lin jerseys and NBA cards signed by the nine-year NBA veteran. Lin, recalling his previous visit to Manila in 2013, remarked on the overwhelming fan base and the passion for basketball that is palpable throughout the country.

During the recent match against the Bolts, Lin felt the same level of enthusiasm from the Filipino fans, who cheered for him even when he was playing against the home team. The 35-year-old guard reciprocated the love by putting on an impressive performance, finishing the game with 23 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. He also interacted with fans after the game, giving away signed merchandise and even his game-worn shoes and jersey.

The energy and passion of Filipino basketball fans were not lost on Jeremy Lin, who treated the crowd to an exciting game and embraced the opportunity to engage with his fans.
