Preparing the Filipino workforce for the future

A transformative program called #InDemandPH has empowered over 13,000 individuals in underserved communities, providing them with essential skills tailored to meet the demands of eight priority industries. These industries, identified by TESDA and industry associations, are projected to experience significant growth in the coming years. The initiative aims to prepare employees for the Fourth Industrial Revolution and new jobs entering the Philippine marketplace. Through customized skills development curricula, participants become more employable, with 11,000 earning credentials or certifications. The average monthly wage for those placed or promoted is $303 (approximately P16,665), significantly improving their economic prospects. Currently, more than 10,000 beneficiaries have secured full-time employment through #InDemandPH. The initiative began in 2017 with a collaboration between TESDA and various stakeholders, including Bayan Academy. In 2018, Bayan Academy partnered with TESDA and J.P. Morgan to revamp the vocational school system in the Philippines, aligning with the National Technical Education and Skills Development Plan.
