Buboy Villar called out for allegedly being disrespectful to an ‘Eat Bulaga’ fan who mentioned TVJ

Eat Bulaga Host Buboy Villar Faces Backlash for Cutting Off Fan Who Mentioned TVJ

Buboy Villar, one of the hosts of the popular Filipino noontime show “Eat Bulaga,” received criticism after he seemingly cut off a fan who mentioned the names of the show’s original mainstays, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, collectively known as TVJ. The incident occurred during a recent episode of the segment “G sa Gedli” on the show.

In the episode that aired on July 29, Villar and fellow host Isko Moreno visited an LRT station to give away cash to random commuters. At one point, Villar approached an elderly woman who was among the recipients of the cash prize and asked her, “Mother, what can you say about ‘Eat Bulaga’?” The fan expressed her gratitude and began to mention Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon when Villar quickly pulled the microphone away.

Following the incident, netizens took to social media to express their disappointment with Villar’s actions, accusing him of being “rude.” Many of the criticisms were directed at the actor-TV host’s Instagram page.

As of now, Villar has not publicly commented on the matter. Meanwhile, “Eat Bulaga” recently celebrated its 44th anniversary by launching a new theme song. The show is currently embroiled in a legal battle between TVJ and GMA Network and TAPE Inc., the production company behind the revamped version of “Eat Bulaga.”
