Niki Releases New Single ’24’

The LA-based singer-songwriter and producer Niki, who was born in Jakarta, has kicked off 2024 with the release of her latest single, “24.” The song, released through 88rising, marks a new musical direction for Niki, blending her signature lyrical prowess and melodic sensibilities with a sound that feels like home to her.

Niki revealed that the inspiration for “24” came from Joni Mitchell’s performance of “Both Sides Now” at the 2022 Newport Folk Festival, which moved her to tears. This emotional experience led her to immediately pick up her guitar and write the song as an attempt to encapsulate her experiences in her early twenties and the lessons she has learned up to this point in her life.

In the production of “24,” Niki collaborated with Grammy-nominated producer Tyler Chester and James Krausse. She also showcased her skills on the guitar, an instrument she has been playing for a decade, while acclaimed multi-instrumentalist Rob Moose contributed to the arrangement of the strings.

Niki has already made a significant impact in the music industry, amassing over 2.1 billion streams worldwide. In 2023, she released her highly praised album “Nicole, NIKI,” which led to a successful worldwide tour, performances at major festivals, and the release of her first live album “Live at the Wiltern.”
