Marcos lashes out at critics and doubters of Bagong Pilipinas

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. reassured the Filipino people that Bagong Pilipinas is not a Trojan Horse and is not a new partisan coalition, but rather a set of ideals that serve the people.

Addressing the negativity surrounding Bagong Pilipinas, President Marcos spoke to a crowd of at least 400,000 people at the kick-off rally at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila on Sunday, January 28.

During his speech, President Marcos acknowledged the existence of “selfish” individuals who believe the country is hopeless and are dragging down the Filipino people. He emphasized that Bagong Pilipinas is a set of ideals that all Filipinos, regardless of political creed, religion, or wealth, can unite around.

President Marcos also highlighted the accomplishments of medical practitioners, Paralympians, and uniformed personnel as examples of individuals who have overcome challenges and proved the naysayers wrong.

He emphasized the importance of restoring faith in oneself and trust in institutions to overcome the crisis of confidence that has plagued the Philippines even before the COVID-19 pandemic. Marcos urged Filipinos to take inspiration from modern-day heroes making their mark globally.

The Bagong Pilipinas Campaign, according to Marcos, is characterized by principled, accountable, and dependable government reinforced by unified institutions of society. The campaign encourages Filipinos to set aside differences and unite to build a nation that shapes a more promising future for its citizens.

President Marcos’s address aimed to dispel the negative perceptions and beliefs surrounding Bagong Pilipinas and to rally Filipinos to come together for the betterment of the nation.
