Kylie Verzosa dazzles at Cannes red carpet in bespoke Mark Bumgarner gown

MANILA, Philippines — Beauty queen-turned-actress Kylie Verzosa made a stunning appearance on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet, wearing a customized dress by designer Mark Bumgarner.

Verzosa graced the red carpet for the festival’s opening ceremony and the premiere of the film “Le Deuxième Acte (The Second Act),” alongside stars Léa Seydoux and Vincent Lindon.

The actress donned a black custom mermaid-shaped dress by Bumgarner, the same designer who dressed her for her Cannes debut last year. Verzosa expressed her gratitude to Bumgarner and jewelry provider Valerie Messika in a social media post, captioned “Walking on a dream.”

Last year, Verzosa attended the global premiere of Maiwenn’s “Jeanne du Barry” on the festival’s opening day, coinciding with Johnny Depp’s feature film comeback.

At last year’s event, she wore a black couture gown by Bumgarner featuring an exaggerated train adorned with black feathers. Apart from her success in the pageant world, Verzosa has had roles in movies such as “Elevator,” “Penduko,” and “Fit Check: Confessions of an Ukay Queen.” She also launched her shapewear brand Sola earlier this year.

The 77th Cannes Film Festival will continue until May 25, with 22 films including “Megalopolis” by Francis Ford Coppola, “Kinds of Kindness” by Yorgos Lanthimos, and “Anora” by Sean Baker competing for the Palme d’Or. Actress Meryl Streep has been honored with an honorary Palme d’Or, while Studio Ghibli and George Lucas are set to receive theirs in the upcoming days.
