Kean Baclaan departs NU while considering future career paths

Kean Baclaan Leaves National University Bulldogs to Pursue Other Opportunities

After two seasons with the National University Bulldogs, 5-foot-8 guard Kean Baclaan has announced his departure from the team. Baclaan confirmed the news on Friday, Jan. 5, expressing his desire to explore other career options.

During his time with the Bulldogs, Baclaan played a key role in helping the team achieve back-to-back third place finishes. In Season 86, he averaged 10.73 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.53 rebounds per game.

Reports indicate that Baclaan is considering various options for his future, including transferring to another UAAP team or pursuing a career in professional basketball. One potential destination for Baclaan is Taft, where he may join the reigning champion De La Salle Green Archers.

Notably, Baclaan’s childhood friend and Season 86 MVP Kevin Quiambao is committed to play one more year for De La Salle, which could influence Baclaan’s decision. Both players previously competed for the Season 85 Rookie of the Year award, which Quiambao ultimately won.

If the transfer to De La Salle materializes, Baclaan would be eligible to join the Green Archers for Season 88. Stay tuned for further updates on Kean Baclaan’s next career move.
