Go takes a commanding lead in ICTSI Palos Verdes Championship with two-shot advantage

In a thrilling competition at Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club, Lloyd Go took the lead in the ICTSI Palos Verdes Championship by carding a two-under 70. Go’s strong frontside finish pushed him two strokes ahead of Ira Alido halfway through the tournament, with a total score of seven-under 137.

Despite a rocky start on the back nine, Go managed to salvage four shots in critical holes and sink two birdies to secure the lead. Expressing determination to maintain his momentum, Go credited his short game for his current position and emphasized the importance of effective chipping and putting.

Chasing closely behind Go is Angelo Que, who climbed to joint second place with a solid performance on the front nine. Que, who described his first round as a warm-up after not playing the course in 20 years, rallied with three consecutive birdies on the back nine to put himself in contention for the title.

Meanwhile, Alido, the Bacolod leg winner last year, showed resilience by rebounding from a backside 37 with an eagle and three consecutive birdies. Despite a late setback with back-to-back bogeys, Alido remains motivated to challenge for the championship title alongside Go and Que.

With 36 holes left to play, the competition remains tight as players like Sean Ramos, Michael Bibat, Keanu Jahns, and Reymon Jaraula stay within striking distance of the leaders. As the tournament organized by Pilipinas Golf Tournaments Inc. unfolds, the players are gearing up for a fierce battle on the course.
