The Gilas Pilipinas and officials from the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas have expressed their commitment to Tim Cone’s four-year program. The aim of the program is to secure a ticket to the Olympics. The plans were revealed by Cone and SBP president Al Panlilio in a press conference with Erika Dy and the 12 players at the PhilSports Arena. The goal is to qualify for the Olympics, whether in Paris this year or in Los Angeles in four years. They plan to do this by qualifying via the OQT or by being the best Asian team in the FIBA World Cup. The team is set to take their first step in the Asia Cup Qualifiers by facing Hong Kong on the road and Chinese-Taipei at home. The players expressed their excitement and commitment to the program, highlighting the importance of continuity and chemistry in the team.
