In the final quarter of the game, Kiefer Ravena led Gilas Pilipinas on a 12-0 run, helping to seal the win against their old regional rival. Dwight Ramos played a crucial role for the team, contributing 17 points and 14 rebounds. Jamie Malonzo also made an impact with 11 points, while Ravena finished with nine.
With a 3-1 win-loss record, Gilas Pilipinas ended the tournament tied with Senegal. The team has improved its defense and overall performance, which bodes well for their upcoming participation in the FIBA World Cup.
Gilas Pilipinas will now focus on preparing for friendlies against Montenegro on August 20 and Mexico on August 21. Jordan Clarkson, a key player for the team, is set to join the squad in Manila on Tuesday.
