DPWH Successfully Finishes Construction of Farm-to-Market Road in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte

DPWH Completes Construction of New Road and Canal in Barangay Tarrag, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte.

In a recent development, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully finished a significant infrastructure project in Barangay Tarrag, located in the town of Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. Under the leadership of DPWH Region 1 Director Ronnel M. Tan, the project, which received a budget allocation of ₱11.7 Million, involved the construction of a 671-meter road and a 756-meter open canal.

The comprehensive scope of work encompassed various activities such as excavation, embankment, the installation of portland cement concrete pavement, reinforcing steel, structural concrete, pipe culvert, grouted riprap for canal lining, and stone masonry for slope protection. These efforts were diligently implemented by the DPWH Ilocos Norte First District Engineering Office, under the supervision of District Engineer Glenn C. Miguel.

Director Tan expressed his optimism regarding the project’s positive impact, stating that the new road would enhance economic activity and facilitate improved accessibility to and from the local business center. Additionally, it serves as a vital link to the Maligaya provincial road, promoting better interconnectivity within the province.

With the completion of the Tarrag farm-to-market road project, the DPWH has successfully provided the residents of Barangay Tarrag and the wider community in Pagudpud with an essential infrastructure asset that will contribute to their development and welfare.
