The Philippines’ Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) has introduced an exciting opportunity for Filipinos to learn foreign languages without any cost. TESDA recently announced its plan to provide free language training programs in Korean, Japanese, Spanish, and English.

The National Language Skills Center (NLSC) of TESDA revealed through a Facebook post on July 7, 2023, that they would be offering language courses lasting between 25 to 38 days, with 4-hour classes held from Monday to Friday. The venue for these courses will be the TESDA Central Office in Taguig City. Two sessions will be available each day: a morning session from 8 am to 12 noon and an afternoon session from 1 pm to 5 pm.

TESDA will be offering the following specific language courses:

  1. Basic Korean Language and Culture (100 hours)
  2. Spanish Language for Various Professions (100 hours)
  3. English Proficiency for Customer Service Workers (100 hours)
  4. Japanese Language and Culture (150 hours)

To be eligible for enrollment in these free language courses, students must be Filipino citizens aged 18 and above, with a high school or Alternative Learning System diploma.
