Celebrities Participate in Chemist Pinky Tobiano’s ‘Shopping for a Cause’ Event Benefiting Typhoon Egay Victims in Bulacan

Furniture and home stores West Elm and Pottery Barn recently showed their support for chemist Pinky Tobiano’s “Shopping for a Cause” event, aimed at helping families affected by Typhoon Egay in Bustos, Bulacan. The event saw the attendance of several celebrities including Erik Santos, Markki Stroem, Bianca Manalo, and beauty queen Roberta Tamondong, among others.

The typhoon had devastating effects on plants, crops, and animals, with many families losing their homes. Pinky’s farm in Bustos, Bulacan was severely damaged, and even her parrots tragically drowned. As a result, Pinky was deeply moved and decided to organize the “Shopping for a Cause” event in partnership with West Elm and Pottery Barn.

During the event, Pinky encouraged her friends to visit West Elm and Pottery Barn flagship stores to make purchases. Shoppers were offered a 20 percent discount on all their purchases, and a percentage of the sales went towards supporting the victims of Typhoon Egay in Bulacan.

Pinky expressed her gratitude towards her family and friends who braved the rain and traffic to support the cause. She also thanked the SSI (Store Specialists, Inc.) group, including West Elm, Pottery Barn, and Pottery Barn Kids, for their instrumental role in making the event a success.

Adding to the event’s allure was Pinky’s latest magazine-worthy tablescape, TableLove by Pinky, which featured a combination of West Elm china, tableware, and exquisite blooms such as orchids, tulips, hydrangeas, and baby’s breath. In a departure from her usual vibrant arrangements, Pinky incorporated black ribbons for the first time, aiming to showcase the color’s quiet elegance and classy appeal.

Guests attending the “Shopping for a Cause” event had the opportunity to explore West Elm’s handcrafted and in-house designed products, offering original style and quality.

The event served as a heartfelt initiative to support those affected by Typhoon Egay, and Pinky Tobiano’s efforts were widely appreciated by the community.
