Lassiter from San Miguel wins weekly player award in PBA

San Miguel’s Marcio Lassiter has returned to his deadly shooting form, helping lead his team to success in the PBA Philippine Cup. Lassiter was named the PBA Press Corps-Pilipinas Live Player of the Week for his outstanding performance from April 17-21.

During that week, Lassiter made a total of nine three-pointers and averaged 16.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists in two crucial victories for San Miguel. This also pushed him past James Yap of Blackwater to claim the fourth spot in the all-time list for the most three-pointers made in a career with 1,197.

Lassiter’s stellar week included a standout performance against Converge, where he nailed five three-point shots to help secure a 112-103 win for San Miguel. Despite some struggles in previous games, Lassiter’s confidence in his shot never wavered.

Expressing his gratitude for being among the top three-point shooters in PBA history, Lassiter acknowledged the legendary players who paved the way for him. With only Jimmy Alapag, Allan Caidic, and LA Tenorio ahead of him in the record books, Lassiter is honored to be mentioned in the same breath as these greats.
