In an impressive display of skill and determination, Canada secured a decisive victory against Brazil in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Men’s Week 3 held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila.

The Canadian team, ranked No. 10 in the world, displayed their prowess by defeating Brazil in straight sets, with scores of 26-24, 25-19, 26-24. This win marks Canada’s third consecutive victory in Manila, solidifying their position as a formidable contender in the league.

Led by Eric Loeppky, who contributed 21 points to the team’s total score, Canada showcased a strong performance on the court. Stephen Timothy Maar and Arthur Szwarc also made significant contributions with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

After a commanding one hour and 16-minute match, Canada emerged victorious, further solidifying their chances of securing a spot in the VNL final round. Loeppky expressed satisfaction with their performance, stating, “It’s really coming together for us this week in Manila and we just want to keep getting better.”

With this win, Canada now stands at fourth place in the rankings with a 7-4 record and 21 points. Meanwhile, Brazil, a former VNL and three-time world champion, slipped to sixth place with a 6-5 record.

The victory against Brazil follows Canada’s previous wins against Japan and Germany, showcasing their strength and determination in the competition. With their eyes set on redemption after missing out on the final round last year, Canada is on a successful path in the VNL Men’s Week 3 in Manila.
