Beermen battle to stay alive

In a surprising turn of events, San Miguel Beer finds themselves in a must-win situation against a bottom-seeded opponent in the PBA Philippine Cup quarterfinals. The Beermen, who were previously unbeaten in their first 10 matches, are now facing an uphill battle to advance to the semifinals.

Their opponent, Terrafirma, currently holds a 1-0 advantage in the series after a 106-95 victory in the first game. The Dyip are determined to pull off an upset and eliminate the defending champions from the competition.

The crucial match between San Miguel Beer and Terrafirma is set to take place at 4:30 p.m. at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium. The winner will move on to face either TNT or Rain or Shine in the next round.

Both TNT and Rain or Shine are also tied at 1-1 in their series, with the deciding game scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

San Miguel Beer superstar June Mar Fajardo acknowledged the challenge ahead, noting that there are no weak teams in the PBA. Meanwhile, Terrafirma’s coach Johnedel Cardel expressed confidence in his team’s ability to capitalize on the opportunity to knock out the favored Beermen.

It’s a do-or-die situation for San Miguel Beer, as they look to regain their dominant form and avoid an early exit from the tournament. The pressure is on as they face an unexpected threat in Terrafirma, who are hungry for an upset victory.
